Charging Service Compositions in a Service-Oriented Peer-to-Peer Network

چکیده

Today, peer-to-peer (P2P) networks, e.g., filesharing networks like Gnutella, are specialised towards specific purposes. This shortcoming is addressed by introducing a new middleware for P2P networks which is shown in Figure 1. The middleware supports the deployment and use of services inside a P2P network. It consists of six different modules, each encapsualating the functionality required for certain tasks. This modular approach makes it possible to adapt the middleware through plug-ins. The middleware includes service negotiation mechanisms which support the creation of legally enforceable service level agreements (SLAs) by using strong identities. This supports reliably composing services into new value-added services.

One Plug at a Time - Designing a Peer-to-Peer Sharing Service for Charging Electric Vehicles

The widespread diffusion of electric vehicles (EVs) suffers from the lack of a well-developed public charging infrastructure, which currently is uneconomical to develop for investors. Many owners of EVs have private charging stations at their premises, which yield unlockable potential due to high idling times. In line with sharing platforms for other goods like accommodations and cars, we prese...

Pre-paid Charging System for Sip-p2p Commercial Applications

The new SIP-P2P approach brings many advantages like the improved reliability and the ease of setup. However, Communications Service Providers (CSPs) offering VoIP services seem to be afraid to lose their profits due to the introduction of SIP-P2P. Claimed is the lack of session establishment control leading to revenue leakages. In this work we introduce a charging system for SIP-P2P that assur...

Decentralising a service-oriented architecture

Service-oriented computing is becoming an increasingly popular paradigm for modelling and building distributed systems in open and heterogeneous environments. However, proposed service-oriented architectures are typically based on centralised components, such as service registries or service brokers, that introduce reliability, management, and performance issues. This paper describes an approac...

Transaction-Based Charging in Mnemosyne: A Peer-to-Peer Steganographic Storage System

Mnemosyne is a peer-to-peer steganographic storage system: one in which the existence of a user’s files cannot be verified without a key. This paper applies the techniques used in Mnemosyne—erasure codes and anonymous block writing—to move most of the administrative overhead of a commercial storage service over to the client, resulting in cost savings for the service provider. The contribution ...
